Maths Week Scotland 2021

Saturday 2nd October

Hop, Skip, Maths!

It’s all fun and games this Maths Week Scotland at the Mining Museum! For nursery to P2 aged children, join us for our learning through play workshop.

Book a place here!

This FREE activity session will include traditional games, such as beanbag toss, hoopla, and quoits, all with a maths themed twist! There will be stations of activities set up around our large room for children to move between, including a quieter area with maths themed colouring activities. To finish the workshop, everyone will go on our new gem hunter scavenger hunt!

The gem hunter trail will take place in our recreated underground tunnel, children will don hardhats (if they want to!) and follow the path to match the gems with their shapes. At the end of the workshop, children will receive their own Maths Week Scotland certificate to take home with them!

Activity lasts 45minutes – 1hr. Booking is essential.

Additional details: Activities will take place inside (including in our recreated coal road). 1 adult per household. Adults please wear a face covering, unless medically exempt. Hand sanitiser will be available throughout the activity. Booking does not include entry to the Museum, tickets can be booked via our website. The Museum Café will be open.

*If you cannot attend on the day, you must let us know by emailing education@nationalminingmuseum.com*
