The Friends of the National Mining Museum Scotland is a membership group that was established to support the Museum. Members come from a variety of backgrounds and locations from across Scotland and beyond who have an interest, commitment, passion to keep the Scottish coal mining heritage alive.
Friends support the museum in a variety of ways with, fundraising, volunteering as researchers, graphics, gardening and much more. Exploring ways to support the Museum is an ongoing activity.
Friends of the National Mining Museum Scotland is an independent organisation registered with OSCR (SCO22093) and is also a member of The British Association of Friends of Museums.
Being a member of the Friends offers opportunities to contribute to the promotion of the Museum with benefits to access social activities, attend a monthly talk programme (download programme below) and receive the Coalface newsletter.
