Using the Library at National Mining Museum Scotland
Everyone is welcome to use the library at National Mining Museum Scotland and we will do our best to accommodate your visit. Please note, however, that it is necessary to make an appointment to use the library. This allows us to ensure that staff or volunteers are available to assist you and will have any relevant material we have been able to find ready for you to look at.
Please remember that we are not currently set up like a public library so it is very helpful if you can give us as much detail as possible about what you are looking for before your visit so we can try to identify and prepare material you might find useful. This does not mean that you may not browse the bookshelves yourself, but should allow you to make the most of your time here.
Note that we do not currently have a catalogue that the public can browse, but staff and volunteers will help you find what you are looking for.
Appointments are available between 10am and 3pm, Monday-Friday. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment.
There is no charge for using the library but that the Museum is always very grateful for donations to help with running costs and collections care.
