Aberfan Remembered

On the 50th anniversary of one of the most shocking mining disasters ever witnessed by the UK, we are remembering those who lost their lives.  We also remember the families and community that were tragically changed forever.

Laura Burnett, keen historian and National Mining Museum Scotland volunteer, has prepared the following essay on what happened that dreadful day in Aberfan.
