National Mining Museum Scotland has a long and successful track record of providing a stunning backdrop as a well-equipped atmospheric space for conferences, meetings, seminars, training sessions, business lunches, breakfast meetings and corporate dinners in Midlothian. The restored Victorian Old Power House is a perfect venue that reflects Midlothian’s proud industrial heritage.

With a space that measures 24m x 8m, there’s comfortably enough room for up to 120 guests theatre style. Our experienced catering team who can cater for everything from a morning bacon roll, soup and sandwich lunches to a hot buffet. We also offer generous free parking for all your guests.

Weddings

Tired of predictable hotel venues for weddings? The

Victorian architecture marries Industrial style to create this authentic wedding venue at the National Mining Museum Scotland. The brickwork, vast arched windows and industrialised features contribute to the charm of our Power House.

The Power House can host up to 120 guests for wedding ceremony, drinks reception, formal dining and dancing. We cater small and intimate to grand celebrations whether they are humanist, civil or religious ceremonies.

Funerals

The loss of someone special is a difficult time for anyone and we aim to make the occasion run smoothly and efficiently. We can accomadate up to 120 for a buffet with some seating.

The Power House is available to hire for £84 ex VAT for up to 3 hours between 10am-5pm (Apr to Oct) and 10am-4pm (Nov-Mar). The cost includes linen and technical equipment. Additional hours may be booked upon enquiry.

Catering options can range from sandwiches and traybakes at £6pp to a hot finger food buffet with dessert at £18pp. Please enquire with your requirements.
